Activist Darya Kulakova was among several people who were detained on April 29 while taking part in a nationwide protest campaign in the Russian city of Kazan. The demonstration -- spearheaded by ex-oil tycoon Mikhail Khodorkovsky's Open Russia civic movement -- involved people presenting their written appeals at a presidential administrative office in Tatarstan's capital, urging President Vladimir Putin not to run for reelection next year.
