Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin says a planned U.S. missile-defense shield will not be able to stop Russia's newest intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM).
At a lecture in Moscow on June 7, Rogozin said Russia will continue improving its weapons to "allow us to ensure our absolute freedom of action, should our country encounter any aggression."
He said Moscow could develop systems that will defeat any missile-defense systems.
Rogozin announced that a new ICBM prototype fired from a mobile launcher was successfully tested late on June 6 in Russia's southwestern Astrakhan region.
Rogozin also called social networks an element of cyberwar against Russia.
He said they were being used for "powerful manipulation of public opinion" that can undermine government authority.
He also stated that cyberwar had become a military threat to NATO.
