The children of Russian investigative reporter Anna Politkovskaya say they will boycott the trial of five suspects in her killing.
Politkovskaya, who was known for her reporting on rights violations in Chechnya, was shot dead in Moscow in October 2006.
The jury trial of the five suspects -- four Chechens and a former Moscow police officer -- is due to start on July 24.
But Politkovskaya's children, Ilya and Vera, said in a statement on July 23 that they would not attend the "illegitimate" trial, as they had not been consulted over the composition of the jury.
They also said the judge had rejected their request to postpone the court session despite being informed they would be unable to attend.
They also called on the jurors to recuse themselves to avoid being drawn into a "farce" of a trial.
