Moscow says it's seeking explanations from NATO after the release of U.S. diplomatic cables by WikiLeaks that say the alliance has drawn up secret plans to defend the Baltic states.
News agencies quoted Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov as saying that "we have questions in connection with the leaks by WikiLeaks."
Lavrov said Russia was "entitled" to have answers.
Meanwhile, NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen reiterated today that the alliance did not consider Russia a threat.
He also said NATO did not comment on "alleged leaked classified documents."
Russia's NATO envoy, Dmitry Rogozin, said earlier this week that Russia would ask NATO to annul its defense plan if the leaked information in the cables was correct.
