Russian President Dmitry Medvedev at a news conference in New Delhi on the first day of his India trip

President Dmitry Medvedev and his delegation of Russian government officials and business people are visiting Mumbai, the financial and entertainment-production capital of India, on the second and final day of their visit to India.

Medvedev was heading to Mumbai after a stop in Agra to see the Taj Mahal mausoleum, a leading Indian tourist site.

In the capital, New Delhi, one day earlier, Medvedev held talks with the Indian leadership on ways to deepen Russian-Indian military and trade cooperation. The Russian and Indian sides also signed a series of deals in the nuclear and military spheres projected to be worth billions of dollars.

The pacts included a deal on the joint design and development of a fighter aircraft with radar-evading capabilities.

The new "stealth" jet is intended to replace the Indian air force's fleet of aging Soviet-era MiG-29 jets.
