Saakashvili, Ivanishvili To Meet Behind Closed Doors

It will be the second meeting between Saakashvili and Ivanishvili since October.

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili and his political rival Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili are expected to meet in Tbilisi.

The meeting, scheduled for early afternoon on March 4, will be held behind closed doors.

This will be only the second meeting of Georgia's president and prime minister after Saakashvili's party lost legislative elections to Ivanishvili's coalition in parliamentary elections last October.

Ivanishvili’s government has been pushing constitutional amendments to limit the right of the president to dissolve the parliament and dismiss the cabinet.

Saakashvili has accused Ivanishvili's government of prosecuting his close allies and former government officials on politically motivated charges.
