Iranian President Hassan Rohani is scheduled to meet on September 12 in Bishkek with his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping.

The talks come one day before a summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). On the day of the summit, Rohani will discuss Tehran-Moscow relations with Russian Putin Vladimir Putin.

The Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry said the presidents of SCO member states, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, will focus on issues related to regional and world security at the summit.

Afghan President Hamid Karzai and Mongolian President Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj -- which along with Iran, India, and Pakistan are SCO observer states -- arrived in Bishkek on September 12.

The Chinese president signed agreements worth billions of dollars with the leaders of Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan before arriving in Kyrgyzstan.
