Man In Serbia Shoots Dead Six At Wedding Party, Kills Himself

Police say a man with a hunting rifle killed six people at a wedding party in a small village in northern Serbia, before killing himself.

The shootings happened on May 17 in the village of Martonos, close to the border with Hungary.

Authorities said the killings were triggered by "unresolved family relations."

They said the shooter was in his mid-50s and fired multiple shots from a hunting rifle, killing six people aged between 24 and 74.

In 2013, a Balkan war veteran killed 13 people in a shooting spree at a village in central Serbia, shocking the country and sparking public debate about the large amounts of weapons left in the country from its conflicts in the early 1990s.
