Some 30 years after the Balkan wars, Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina still grapple with the legacy of wartime leaders. Bosnian law forbids the "glorification" of war criminals, but is rarely enforced, and both countries are home to public plaques and murals honoring leaders convicted of war crimes.
