Four Found Alive At Siberian Helicopter Crash Site

WATCH: Three crew members and one passenger who survived a helicopter crash in Siberia on July 2 were rescued and brought to the nearest big city of Yakutsk on July 3. Search teams in northeastern Siberia have found four people alive at the site where a Mi-8 helicopter crashed on July 2.

Russia's Emergency Situations Ministry said on July 3 that four people -- three crew members and a child passenger -- survived the crash.

Twenty-four other people aboard the helicopter, 10 of them children, perished.

Yakutia is an enormous but sparsely populated area in the far northern reaches of Siberia and helicopters are often used to transport people between towns and villages.
