One Person Killed In Armed Attack On Pakistan Girls' School

One person was killed and another was wounded when gunmen opened fire on a girls' school in Pakistan's restive South Waziristan tribal district on December 1, police said. The person killed was a local passerby while the one wounded was a security guard, Alamgir Mehsud, police chief of Azam Warsak, where the attack occurred, told RFE/RL. Warsak said security forces returned fire but the attackers escaped into the border area. No group has claimed the attack, but the Pakistani Taliban, known as TTP, has recently announced an end to their cease-fire. To read the original Radio Mashaal story, click here.
