Son Of Adolf Hitler's Architect Albert Speer Dies At 83

German architect and city planner Albert Speer Jr., the son of Adolf Hitler's favorite architect and close associate, has died at age 83.

Speer suffered a fall on September 14 in his Frankfurt residence and died in the hospital on September 15, the German Bild newspaper reported.

Speer was born in 1934 and as an architect favored environmentally friendly city planning projects.

His company was involved in designing the European Central Bank building in Frankfurt, and he also designed stadiums for the Qatar 2022 soccer World Cup.

His father, also named Albert Speer, designed Hitler's Nazi Party rally grounds in Nuremberg and served as armaments minister under Hitler.

He was sentenced to 20 years in prison after the war by the Nuremberg war crimes panel.
