Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir, wanted by the International Criminal Court (ICC) for alleged genocide, has arrived on a state visit to China.
Bashir arrived in Beijing one day later than planned after Sudan's Foreign Ministry said his plane was forced to choose a "new route."
Bashir is accused by ICC prosecutors of alleged genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity perpetrated in Sudan's western Darfur region, where about 300,000 people have died since 2003.
He was flying to Beijing from Tehran, where he attended an international terrorism conference on June 26.
Sudanese media reports said his plane was rerouted via Pakistan airspace after Turkmenistan blocked the flight.
China has come under heavy criticism by international rights groups for hosting the Sudanese leader.
