Swiss Bank Closes WikiLeaks Founder's Bank Accounts

The Swiss post office bank says it has closed down accounts set up by WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, saying he gave "false information" regarding his place of residence when he opened the account.

PostFinance is only open to residents of Switzerland or Swiss citizens.

WikiLeaks has published hundreds of secret U.S. diplomatic cables, angering the U.S. government and triggering the shutdown of its main website, which was hosted on U.S. servers.

Sites including PayPal have closed services to WikiLeaks.

Its founder, who is believed to be in undisclosed locations in Britain, is wanted for questioning in Sweden over possible sexual crimes.
