Syrian rebel fighters and their families continued to leave the Syrian town of Douma on April 12 through the Al-Wafideen crossing point, as Russian military police units prepared to enter the town. A withdrawal agreement was reached with the rebel group Jaish al-Islam hours after a suspected chemical weapons attack on the town. The Syrian and Russian governments deny such an attack took place.
