Activists say Syrian security forces have fired on protesters at a night demonstration against President Bashar Assad on the southern edge of Damascus.
Four were reported wounded.
Activists say hundreds had turned out on a main square to demonstrate against Assad before security police showed up and fired on the crowd.

The latest report of violence comes as the International Red Cross tries to negotiate a cease-fire with the government and opposition groups to allow supplies in to people in beleaguered areas, like Homs and Hama.
On the diplomatic front, Germany said the European Union would probably impose more sanctions against Syria in the coming week.
U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said the "Friends of Syria" group -- meeting in Tunisia later this week -- would "demonstrate that Assad's regime is increasingly isolated and that the brave Syrian people need our support and solidarity."
