More Than 100 Homes Destroyed In Tajik Quake

DUSHANBE -- An earthquake in Tajikistan has destroyed more than 100 homes and damaged hundreds more, though no deaths were reported.

The epicenter of the November 10 earthquake, which had a magnitude of 5.0, was some 26 kilometers southeast of the capital, Dushanbe.

Tajikistan's Committee for Emergency Situations said 104 homes in Vakhdat, near the epicenter, were totally destroyed and 256 homes were damaged.

In Dushanbe, where the quake measured only 4.0, little damage was reported.
