The Republican Party officially nominated businessman Donald Trump to stand as their candidate in November's U.S. presidential election. After winning the vote at the convention in Cleveland on July 19, he spoke briefly via video link from his Trump Tower in New York, saying he would win the presidency, and put "the American people first."
