President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said Turkey could give military or logistical support to U.S.-led air strikes targeting the Islamic State (IS) extremist group.
Erdogan was speaking to reporters in New York on September 23 following the first air strikes against IS militants and other jihadists in Syria.
Asked how Turkey would contribute to the operation, Erdogan said: "It involves all kinds of support, including military and political. It involves political or logistic support."
Earlier, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said Turkey pledged to take part in the coalition against IS militants.
Speaking to a counter-terrorism forum in New York after meeting with Turkish officials, Kerry said Turkey is "very much part" of the coalition.
"Turkey will be very engaged on the frontlines of this effort," he added.
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu told the forum that his country has deported more than 1,000 foreign fighters from 75 countries as it battles to halt the flow of militants into Syria.
