Twin U.S. Missile Strikes Target Militants In Northwest Pakistan

Pakistani intelligence officials say two suspected U.S. drone missile attacks have killed more than 10 people in the North Waziristan tribal area, near the Afghan border.

Reports say up to eight suspected Islamist militants, among them foreigners, were killed in a strike on February 16 near the town of Mir Ali.

In a separate strike earlier on February 16, at least six people were reported killed when missiles hit a suspected militant compound in Spalga.

Also on February 16, at least one person was reported killed and three others injured in an attack by a suicide bomber in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province.

The attack in the province’s Dir District is reported to have targeted volunteers in a pro-government militia.
