Yulia Tymoshenko has called on Ukrainians to come together to defend the country against what she describes as a "war" launched by Russia to seize Ukrainian territory. Speaking to RFE/RL in Kyiv on April 15, the former prime minister and now a candidate in the upcoming presidential election, called for a state of emergency in Ukraine's eastern regions, which would give the government the right to use troops against pro-Moscow protesters.
