UK Police Arrest 12 Men On Suspicion Of Plotting Terror Attack

British police say they have arrested 12 young men in a large-scale counterterrorism operation.

The suspects -- aged 17 to 28 -- include five men from Cardiff in Wales, four from Stoke in central England, and three from London.

Assistant Commissioner John Yates, the officer in charge of counterterrorism police, said the group was being held on suspicion of "the commission, preparation, or instigation of an act of terrorism" in the United Kingdom.
