Crimean Tatar Jailed For Fighting With Ukrainian Forces

A court in the Russian-occupied Ukrainian region of Crimea has sentenced a local resident, whose identity was not disclosed, to four years in prison for taking part in the activities of an illegal armed group. Russia's TASS news agency reported that the Kyiv district court in the Crimean capital, Simferopol, announced the sentence on April 24 after finding the defendant guilty of joining the Noman Chelebidzhikhan Battalion of Crimean Tatars in 2016.
