Oleshky, a Ukrainian city occupied by Russian forces 9 kilometers from Kherson, is on the brink of a humanitarian catastrophe. Since the occupation and the subsequent bombing of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Station in 2023, the city has been without electricity, gas, or drinking water. Now, Kyiv says locals are starving and Ukrainian teams are airlifting food supplies into the embattled area.
