Ukrainian media reports say a man was killed when a grenade he was carrying detonated at a local university in the western city of Chernivtsi.
Two others -- a professor and a student-- were injured in the blast and taken to hospital.
State prosecutors said they were investigating whether the detonation was accidental or intentional.
