Ukraine's High Commission for Judges' Qualification has fired six judges across the country.
Five of the judges were dismissed because of suspicions of corruption, and one was accused of illegally incarcerating peaceful demonstrators during protests that chased President Viktor Yanukovych from power in February 2014.
The Ukrainian Prosecutor-General's Office said on April 17 that the decision had been made on April 15.
The judges -- from the regions of Cherkasy, Zhytomyr, Kyiv, and Vinnytsya, and the capital, Kyiv -- were dismissed based on requests from Prosecutor-General Viktor Shokin, who is also seeking to prosecute them for alleged corruption.
Criminal charges have not been filed.
