Ukrainians have expressed mixed feelings to RFE/RL over a new law that was passed by parliament on April 11 aimed at boosting the country's depleted troop numbers. The law expands the powers of authorities to issue draft notices and limit exemptions from military service in the face of the ongoing Russian invasion. A provision was scrapped demobilizing those who have already served for a long time in the Ukrainian armed forces.
