Train Hits Minibus In Ukraine, Killing At Least 12

The Ukrainian president's press office has reported that at least 12 people were killed when a train collided with a minibus in the northeastern Sumy region.

A statement on the president's website on February 4 said, "On a railway crossing near the villages of Bilany and Vyry there was a collision...."

The statement continued, "as a result, 12 people were killed and five taken to hospital."

A statement from the prosecutor's office in the Sumy region said 13 people were killed and seven injured and blamed the driver of the minibus for "ignoring the signal" waning of an approaching train.
