Ukrainian Military Plane Shot Down Near Luhansk

A Ukrainian transport aircraft was struck by a surface-to-air missile early June 14 as it approached the airport of the eastern city of Luhansk, where heavily armed separatists control much of the area. Charred debris was scattered for hundreds of meters over the wheat field where the plane came down near Novohannivka, a village southeast of Luhansk. (Reuters)
