A U.S. drone strike has killed at least four suspected militants in Pakistan's restive tribal region near the Afghan border.
A Pakistani military official said on December 7 that the drone hit a house where the men were in the Khar Tangi area of the Datta Khel district in North Waziristan and injured two others.
Four Pakistani military officials told Reuters that a senior member of Al-Qaeda was among the dead.
They said Pakistani Omar Faroq, also known as Ustad Farooq, was the head of Al-Qaeda's regional media department and operated in both Afghanistan and Pakistan.
The attack came one day after Pakistani forces killed high-level Al-Qaeda leader Adnan el-Shukrijumah.
Pakistan's military launched a major offensive in North Waziristan in June and says it has killed more than 1,560 militants while losing 125 soldiers.
