U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry is preparing for an overseas trip that will include talks in the Middle East and Moldova.

The State Department said the trip will take place from December 3-6.

In Jerusalem, Kerry is expected to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to discuss the new U.S.-backed accord between Iran and world powers on the Iranian nuclear program.

Netanyahu has voiced strong opposition to the deal.

Kerry is also expected to visit Ramallah for talks with Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas on the Palestinian-Israeli peace process.

State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki said Kerry would meet with senior Moldovan officials in Chisinau to discuss Moldova's path toward European integration.

He will become the first secretary of state to visit Moldova in more than two decades.
