U.S. To Raise Issue Of Iran's Missiles At UN Next Week

The U.S. ambassador to the UN says that Washington will raise the issue of Iran's ballistic missile launches during UN Security Council consultations on March 14.

Samantha Power said March 11 that "these launches underscore the need to work with partners around the world to slow and degrade Iran's missile program."

She also said the United States is urging countries to cooperate on undermining Tehran's missile program.

Iran's Revolutionary Guard units were reported to have conducted a series of ballistic missile tests this week.

The United States, France and other countries said that if confirmed, the new launches of nuclear-capable ballistic missiles would violate U.N. Security Council resolution 2231.
