Several people have been reported killed in a clash between members of China's Uyghur minority and its Han Chinese majority in the far western region of Xinjiang.
Radio Free Asia quoted witnesses as saying police have tightened security in the city of Korla after the March 7 clash at a video-game arcade.
The report said a police officer in Korla confirmed an unspecified number of people were killed after one or more Uyghurs attacked the Han Chinese.
Witnesses said the casualties included both Uyghurs and Han Chinese.
The Hong Kong newspaper "Wen Hui Bao" said at least four people died and eight were injured.
Chinese state media did not report the incident.
Uyghurs, most of whom are Muslims, make up around 40 percent of Xinjiang's 21 million people.
They complain of cultural and religious repression.
