Top Czech Military Cop Suspended Over TV Raid

Alexandr Vondra

The Czech Republic's defense minister, Alexandr Vondra, has suspended the head of the country's military police after soldiers raided Czech public television, seizing computers, documents and other items.

General Vladimir Lozka was suspended today after the March 11 raid, in which masked police armed with assault rifles stormed Czech Television, reportedly in search of a report that caused a military intelligence shakeup.

The report -- which Czech Television said the police did not find -- led to the dismissal of former military intelligence head Miroslav Krejcik in 2007.
