Yemen: Dozens Wounded In Fresh Protests

Reports say dozens of demonstrators were wounded in clashes between security forces and antigovernment protesters in the Yemen capital on March 13 as fresh protests turned violent.

President Ali Abdullah Saleh, who has ruled the country for over 30 years, has so far refused calls by protesters to step down.

Meanwhile, unrest in the country has prompted a bloody crackdown from the government, with four people reported killed in clashes on March 12.

Also on March 12, United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon called for "utmost restraint" and denounced the government's "excessive use of force."
