Croatian Generals Agree To Face War Crimes Court


Zagreb, 8 March 2004 (RFE/RL) -- Two retired Croatian Army generals who have been indicted by the UN war crimes court have agreed to give themselves up for trial.

Croatian Justice Minister Vesna Skare-Ozbolt said in Zagreb today that retired Generals Ivan Cermak and Mladen Markac had been served with their indictments and had agreed to give themselves up.

She said the generals will go to The Hague by the end of this week.

They were indicted by the UN tribunal for alleged war crimes committed during the war of 1991-95.
