Ukrainian PM Vows To Ban Oil Exports

25 May 2004 -- Ukrainian Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych said today that Ukraine plans to halt exports of oil products to ease rising tensions over soaring fuel prices at home.

Yanukovych made the announcement on Ukrainian state-run television.

He said the government's decision to ban the export of oil products is intended to satisfy Ukraine's domestic market.
