More Bodies Found After Iran Earthquake

30 May 2004 -- Iranian officials today said that more bodies have been found following the devastating earthquake on 28 May.

Relief team workers said the bodies were found on a road that was devastated by the quake. Exact figures were not available, but rescue workers say the figure could be as high as 40.

Iran's state-run television today confirmed that 35 people were killed in the quake, which rocked Mazandaran Province in the north and Qazvin Province in the northwest.

Officials say that rescue operations in Qazvin have stopped, and that rescue work in Mazandaran will likely be concluded later today.
