Reports Say Seven Turks Taken Hostage In Iraq

10 June 2004 -- Turkish and Arabic media have reported that seven Turks have been taken hostage in the Iraqi city of Al-Fallujah.

Dubai-based Al-Arabiyah television today showed a video of what it said were four of the seven hostages, who were being held captive by masked men. The television station reported that the hostage-takers were demanding that Turks protest the U.S.-led foreign presence in Iraq.

Dozens of foreigners have been kidnapped in Iraq in recent months.
