U.K. Seeks Further Iranian Nuclear Assurances


4 July 2004 -- British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw says Iran must do more to convince the world it is not developing nuclear weapons.

On BBC radio today, Straw was asked if he believed Iranian assurances on the issue. He answered that no one could be sure.

Straw said Iran has not made full disclosures about its program, which is being investigated by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

The United States and others have accuse Iran of trying to build nuclear weapons, but Iran insists it is only for generating power.
