Russia Introduces Resolution On Terror At UN

27 September 2004 -- Russia today submitted a draft resolution to the UN Security Council that Moscow says is aimed at strengthening the global war on terrorism.

The draft calls for the creation of a list of individuals and organizations that would be internationally recognized as terrorists.

According to the proposal, anyone apprehended on the proposed list would be extradited without delay to the country that wanted to try them.

China welcomed the Russian proposal but Pakistan and several other council members said they would seek modifications.
