Video Aired Of Abducted CARE Director

23 October 2004 -- The kidnapped Baghdad director of the charity CARE International is urging British forces to leave Iraq in a video broadcast yesterday by the Arabic television station Al-Jazeera.

Margaret Hassan, a British-Iraqi, said she could face the same fate as a British hostage who was decapitated by his captors in early October.

"Please help me. This might be my last hours. Please help me," Hassan says in the video footage.

Her appeal came as 850 British troops prepared to deploy from southern Iraq to areas near Baghdad to allow U.S. troops to fight insurgents in hotspots like Al-Fallujah.
