Al-Jazeera Broadcasts New Bin Laden Tape

29 October 2004 -- Arab satellite television channel Al-Jazeera has broadcast a videotape purporting to be from Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.

Bin Laden said the administration of U.S. President George W. Bush has deceived Americans in the years since the attacks of 11 September 2001.

Bin Laden claimed responsibility for the attacks saying, "we decided to destroy the towers in America."

The Qatari-based satellite channel did not say how it had received the tape or how it had concluded it is authentic.
