British Military Plane Crashes In Iraq


30 January 2005 -- Authorities say a large British military transport plane crashed today north of Baghdad. Casualties were reported.

British Prime Minister Tony Blair said there were fatalities. He gave no details but paid tribute to the troops who died in the crash.

The cause of the crash has not been disclosed.

The C-130 plane's wreckage was seen scattered over a large area.
