Explosion Rocks Convoy In Afghanistan

13 June 2005 (RFE/RL -- A U.S. military spokesperson says four American soldiers were wounded today when an explosive device hit a military convoy near the southern Afghan city of Kandahar.

Lieutenant Cindy Moore said the four wounded U.S. soldiers were evacuated to the Kandahar airfield for treatment.

Kandahar police chief Salim Khan said a suicide car bomber drove his vehicle into the convoy.

Khan said the bomber was killed.
