Croatia Detains Srebrenica Massacre Suspect

13 June 2005 -- Croatian police have detained a man suspected of being with a Serbian paramilitary unit that participated in the killing of Muslims in the 1995 Srebrenica massacre in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

The man, a Croatian national identified only as Slobodan B, was arrested late yesterday in the village of Banovci, near the eastern town of Vukovar.

News agencies report the man was recognized on a video made public by the United Nations last week, which purports to show ethnic Serb soldiers shooting Muslim civilians in Srebrenica. Some 8,000 Muslim men and boys were killed in Srebrenica.
