Eight Reported Killed In Chechnya

Chechen security forces 7 July 2005 -- A source in Chechnya's pro-Russian government says three rebels, four Russian soldiers, and a policeman were killed in another day of fighting throughout Chechnya.

A shootout in neighboring Daghestan killed a high-ranking police officer and a gunman and two soldiers died in a mortar attack.

The shooutout occurred yesterday evening and the soldiers were killed today.
