EBRD Approves $250 Million Loan For Albania

9 August 2005 (RFE/RL) -- The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has approved a $250 million loan for 20 projects in Albania.

The Albanian Finance Ministry said in a statement today that the projects are aimed at improving road and energy infrastructure, as
well as the private business sector.

The private business sector is to receive 49 percent of the allocated money.

The statement said fourteen of the projects are private investments and the remaining six public.
