Grozny Bomb Blast Kills Soldier


12 September 2005 (RFE/RL) -- A roadside bomb exploded near a car carrying Russian soldiers in Chechnya's capital Grozny today, killing one trooper and wounding five.

Officials at the Emergency Situations Ministry say the bomb was detonated by remote control. There were no other immediate details.
