Russia's Gazprom To Launch Youth Radio

13 September 2005 -- Russian energy giant Gazprom said today it plans to launch a youth-oriented radio station.

The head of the project, Aleksander Gerasimov, told Russian media that the new station would go on air next January, initially in the Moscow region but then across the country.

Gazprom, whose largest shareholder is the Russian state, has in recent years bought up a string of media outlets previously known for their critical stance towards President Vladimir Putin's administration.
